Naby Keïta, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner are among the options currently at Jürgen Klopp’s disposal at Liverpool and the midfield trio have deals expiring at the end of this season. The Merseyside club also have Arthur Melo, who is on loan from Juventus.

Liverpool face the possibility of losing one or more of these four players next summer and this has seen them look for a new midfielder in the market.

Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners has ended up on the Premier League side’s radar, as per multiple reports from Italy.

Tutto Atalanta explain Liverpool are ‘back in force’ for the Netherlands international and would have re-established contacts with his entourage. The Serie A side, however, don’t intend to part ways with the 24-year-old.

Corriere della Sera state the Dutchman is liked by Klopp’s side, but Atalanta have no plans to let him go in January.

He is considered ‘non-transferable’ and the only way to change this status is if the Italian club were to receive an offer they cannot refuse.

The report doesn’t specify the fee needed to change Atalanta’s stance on Koopmeiners.
