According to Turkish newspaper Sozcu, Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri has rejected a loan offer from Galatasaray.

Earlier this month we covered reports from Turkey that the Swiss attacker is a transfer target for Gala, as they look to strengthen their wide areas in the January.

However, after consideration, Sozcu report Shaqiri has informed Galatasaray that he will be staying with Liverpool at least until the end of the season.

Partly due to injury the 28 year old hasn’t featured much for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season, but he’s been getting minutes in recent games.

He recently made his first start of the season against Everton, and on Saturday he was again given the nod by Klopp against Watford.

The former Stoke City winger has made six appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season, scoring one goal.

With the prospect of a Premier League medal it seems the player will stick around at least until the summer.

His contract with the Reds will expire at the end of June 2023.
