Over the past few days, there have been rumours that Luis Diaz, currently injured at Liverpool, could be sold in the near future.

The main story has been that he could be used as some sort of counterpart in a deal for Milan’s Rafael Leão, and that hasn’t gone down well with those around him.

We say this because journalist Pipe Sierra was present on WinSports TV in Colombia to talk about a few transfer stories, and the one about the Liverpool forward came up.

Doing his due diligence, the reporter had already been in touch with Diaz’s entourage, and read out the response he had received when he asked about the idea that the Colombian could leave Anfield.

He said he would censor some of what was said, such was the tone of the response, but the main point was that it was, in essence, ‘a lie’.

Therefore, with the journalist very well connected when it comes to the Liverpool player, it’s fair to say that Liverpool fans can rest easy when it comes to Diaz and a potential exit, as unlikely as it  sounded in the first place.
