The Italian media has always had a nice coverage of the Premier League. But, obviously, Antonio Conte’s arrival to Chelsea has made turned all of the attention to the former Juventus player and coach, who moved to the London club from the Italy national team job over the summer.

TuttoMercatoWeb held an interview with the Leicester City defender Yohan Benalouane this Tuesday. As the player spent a few months on loan at Fiorentina last season, he’s already known by the local outlets and talked about the Foxes’ form in the Premier League and the Champions League.

But, as you might expect, they couldn’t avoid asking the player about Antonio Conte, who, despite managing an opponent club, is still someone the player knows from working in the same league.

The first question was about Conte’s controversial actions during the match between Chelsea and Manchester United: “I don’t think Conte has disrespected Mourinho, you have to respect his happiness”, said Benalouane. “And if the Portuguese didn’t like it, well… I don’t care much. Conte is a good person who respects everyone.”

The Italian media outlet then asked Benalouane asked who he felt the favourites for the Premier League title were, and the player’s response struck all the right chords: “Let’s hope it’s Conte’s Chelsea. It would please me a lot, but I have no particular preference. I respect Conte, he’s a great coach. We are rather far, this year we must also think about the Champions League. We will try to defend the title, but we have to be realistic. “
