On June 14th, HLN in Belgium reported Youri Tielemans is no longer the first choice target for Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

It was also explained Leicester City are looking to see if they can ‘quickly reach a deal’ with AS Monaco to sign the midfielder on a permanent deal.

He impressed during his loan spell in the second half of the 2018/19 season at the King Power Stadium, which is why Brendan Rodgers’ side are keen on completing the former Anderlecht man’s transfer.

Saturday’s edition of another Belgian newspaper Het Belang van Limburg  claim the Foxes are ‘still very serious’ in landing the 22-year-old, but are expected to face a ‘strong competition’ to complete the player’s transfer.

HBVL states the Red Devils have rekindled their interest in the Belgium international.

There has already been several discussions between the 20-time English champions and the Monaco owned midfielder’s representatives and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have once again contacted Tielemans’s entourage. 

United have woken up in the battle to sign Tielemans, which is why Leicester face a tough competition to complete his transfer.

Monaco, for their part are looking for €45m fee to sanction Tielemans’ sale in the summer.
