Half-expecting to have to sell Youri Tielemans this summer, Leicester City appear to be looking around for a similar player, or at least someone who could help out should the Belgian be sold.

The Foxes’ first port of call, it seems, is the same country where they plucked their star from, and that’s Belgium, where Charles De Ketelaere has been shining like a beacon at Club Brugge.

The 21-year-old has just come off a season that has seen him score 18 goals and assist another 10 in all competitions, which has attracted a lot of attention.

Leicester are one of those, but there’s also Milan, fresh from their Serie A title win, who are looking to bolster their squad for another league push and Champions League football.

Gazzetta dello Sport have an article on the matter on Wednesday, explaining that the Italians have saved a space in their squad for De Ketelaere, at number 10, ‘in the middle of the trio of prompters’ behind the striker.

However, ‘there is new English interference’ in a possible deal, ‘this time from Leicester’, who are ‘ready to surpass the Rossoneri offer of €35m’.

That being said, despite Brendan Rodgers seemingly pushing for a transfer, the player ‘doesn’t seem at all confused by the English courtship’, as Milan ‘remain his first choice’, which is the same problem Newcastle are facing in their pursuit of Sven Botman: they can offer more, but the player wants Champions League football and to play for the historical club.

This is something Leicester need to overcome, but it’s not explained how they need to go about that.
