If Adrien Silva wanted to create a big rumour when saying he’d like to return to his former club Sporting, he’s done it pretty well.

Following the coverage of his quotes, Lisbon newspaper Record now comes up with a big article saying what the Lions have to do to sign the Leicester City player in the summer.

They say the main concern is about the number of midfielders Sporting have in the squad. It’s claimed the club currently own 10 players for the position, and would need to get rid of a few of them before signing another one.

And it doesn’t really look like Record are even considering the possibility of the Lisbon side signing Adrien Silva on a permanent deal.

They say that for the operation to be possible, the player only needs to accept a big pay cut, as the Lions can’t afford the €4.6m gross he makes at Leicester City.

To hype up the possible transfer, Record consulted three pundits to comment on it. They’ve also made a poll on their website asking Sporting fans if the club should spend on bringing Adrien Silva back. There were 56.4% saying yes to the signing, while 43.6% were going against it.

Considering that Adrien used to be Sporting’s captain, this approval rate is quite lower than we expected.
