It’s no secret that Torino wanted to make a move for Dennis Praet permanent last year after loaning him from Leicester City.

The midfielder had impressed for the Serie A side when he was fit, but his inability to find continuity due to physical problems is what made it difficult for the Italians to pay the pre-agreed €15m to the Foxes.

They tried to convince Leicester City to negotiate that figure down, which Brendan Rodgers’ side weren’t interested in doing, wanting to cash in as much as possible on the Belgian.

However, that backfired, and the Premier League side are now stuck with a player they didn’t really want, with their manager using him very sparingly.

Over in Leicester, Praet is probably wondering what could have been, and Torino Granata look at some of the ‘unhappy’ players they used to have who left in the summer.

When mentioning the Belgian, they explain he was ‘so loved’ by Ivan Juric, who pushed for a permanent transfer, but never got it.

They then add that with his six appearances and zero goals in the Premier League, Praet ‘certainly longs for’ Torino, where he enjoyed himself last season.
