Among the many impacts the Coronavirus pandemic has had on the football world, there was the change in the way that clubs scout their transfer targets.

It’s been a tradition for Portuguese newspapers to report all the foreign sides who send officials to watch local matches, with Premier League clubs always keeping an eye on players from Benfica, Porto and Sporting.

Now even though we spent over a year with no scouts being seen in the Portuguese league, we’re once again see those stories today, as Leicester City were at the Estádio da Luz on Tuesday evening.

As reported by newspaper O Jogo, the Foxes were one of the clubs who had officials watching the Champions League clash between Benfica and Spartak Moscow.

Of course it’s still early in the season to guess who Leicester City were watching, especially because it’s been over a year since they were last linked to a player from Benfica.

The Eagles managed to get a 2-0 win, with goals scored by João Mário and Gigot. Central defender Nicolas Otamendi and right-back Diogo Gonçalves also deserved big praise from the local media.
