Leeds United midfielder Brendan Aaronson ‘has a club problem’ and a potential summer in which two clubs just don’t want him.
That’s according to BILD, who say that current loan club Union Berlin don’t consider him ‘financially viable’, and Daniel Farke may not want him at Leeds either.
They explain that while Aaronson is currently experiencing his best moment at Union Berlin since arriving in the summer, that won’t change matters for him at the club.
They’re very much ready to let him return to Leeds in the summer and even if his value has fallen from €30m to €14m, they’re unlikely to consider him financially viable and worth spending their money on.
The American has remained coy on his future when asked about the possibility of staying, insisting it is out of his hands and praising the club despite an overall negative experience for much of his time there.
His words have largely been seen as a farewell and all indications are that he will be returning to Leeds, but an ‘uncertain future’ awaits him there.
Daniel Farke has already made his stance on returning loan players clear, stating that using those who have asked to leave previously is like ‘reheating food in the microwave’.
That would suggest Aaronson is not a part of his plans if and when he returns from Union Berlin, which means he could be set for a very uncomfortable summer.
