Leeds United forward Jay Roy-Grot has told the Dutch media he’s happy that he got a transfer back to the Netherlands in the summer.

The Dutchman is currently on loan with VVV-Venlo for the season.

Fcupdate have reported on comments the Leeds United loanee made to De Limburger when asked about his contribution for VVV-Venlo this season: “I like it here, I’m happy to be back in the Netherlands and I enjoy the contact with the boys in this group. As an attacker I am learning a lot from our assistant coach Luc Nilis… what technique does that man have!

“If such a footballer speaks, then you listen, I don’t have such good technique myself, but I’m quick and I have a good shot, luckily I could show that against NAC.”

The youngster played twenty Championship games for Leeds United last season, scoring just one goal. However, most of those appearances came off the bench and with the appointment of Marcelo Bielsa in the summer it seemed like the forward would have to go out on loan to get first team football.

Grot impressed last weekend when he scored and made a goal in his side’s 3-0 victory over NAC Breda. Improving aspects of his game, and being open to learning, is certainly good for Vlasic’s chances of a bright Leeds United future.
