Leeds United continue to advance in talks to sign Ilia Gruev from Werder Bremen, according to reports from the German media.

Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg now says that the Whites’ pursuit is ‘hot’.

It’s said that even though there’s no done deal for his move to Leeds yet, there are already ‘advanced negotiations’ for it.

Guev himself is said to be keen on the move, and according to Plettenberg, the transfer could cost the Whites €6m.

Earlier today, reports from the German media had already claimed that the player had been released from Werder Bremen to hold personal talks with Leeds.

So that’s different outlets agreeing that the transfer is close, even though Bild’s story claimed the transfer would cost a little less, mentioning a €4m figure.

That report also claimed that the move should be done by Thursday, and with such a tight deadline, it’s obvious Leeds need to hurry to bring the player to England for his medical and contract signature.
