Newcastle youngster Lucas de Bolle is on his way to Feyenoord, according to reports from the Netherlands.

Outlet 1908 reports that the Eredivisie side ‘ended up’ with the midfielder, who’s set to reinforce the squad in the final days of the transfer window.

Feyenoord and Newcastle are said to be negotiating the ‘final details’ of the agreement, and De Bolle is expected to move in what ‘will probably result in a loan’.

It remains to be seen whether the Magpies will renew the player’s contract before the loan. Because as his current deal expires next summer, that means that as soon as his spell at Feyenoord is over, then he’d become a free agent.

The midfielder is a product of Newcastle’s academy, and he had already spent the last season on loan at Scottish side Hamilton.

Despite the many years belonging to the Magpies, De Bolle never had the chance of making his debut for the club, as his only professional appearances were made in Scotland. Now he should get a fresh chance to prove himself at Feyenoord in Eredivisie.

This is also the second deal the two clubs have struck in the past few months, after Feyenoord agreed to take Yakubah Minteh on loan earlier this summer.
