Leeds United are among the clubs credited with interest in FC St. Gallen star Willem Geubbels.

Recent claims in the UK have stated the Whites are looking to sign the striker on a loan deal in the winter market.

That has been picked up by Nau.ch in Switzerland, who then give their own take on Leeds’ chances of securing his services.

The Championship side did business with St. Gallen when signing Isaac Schmidt last summer. There may be good ties between the two clubs, but it probably won’t help Leeds sign Geubbels.

He has starred this season, scoring nine goals and registering two assists from 23 games, and is the club’s top scorer. The 23-year-old is clearly one of their most important players and his exit would leave a hole in the St. Gallen’s squad.

Therefore, the Swiss club are unlikely to let the Frenchman leave on loan in this window. If Daniel Farke’s side were to change the transfer formula and consider buying him, then it won’t be cheap.

Nau.ch haven’t mentioned the fee needed to convince St. Gallen, but it may be above his current valuation [as per Transfermarkt] of €5m.

As well as Leeds, Geubbels has also been linked to West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City.
