Leeds and Southampton are looking at KRC Genk technical director Dimitri de Condé as they hunt a new man to lead them going forwards.

That’s according to Het Nieuwsblad, who say De Condé is ‘enjoying foreign interest’ after his work with the Belgian side since 2015.

They explain that several English teams are currently ‘monitoring the situation’ of the 48-year-old and both Leeds and Southampton are among them.

The former are looking for a new director of football after parting ways with Victor Orta earlier this month, while the Saints have him ‘on their list’ of candidates as they look set to rebuild and go again following relegation to the Championship this season.

They know De Condé well after signing Paul Onuachu from Genk in the January transfer window, a deal which meant they ‘got to know’ the Belgian well.

He’s been impressing at Genk since his arrival eight years ago, particularly with his ability to bring in young talent to be developed and sold on at a high price down the line. That’s seen him bring in nearly €300m in recent years alone.

It is that which seemingly interests Leeds and Southampton, who are keeping an eye on his situation as they eye a key appointment at the end of the season.
