Leeds United, Everton and AS Roma are showing ‘active interest’ in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Hwang Hee-chan, according to South Korea’s MBC News.

The forward initially joined Wolves from RB Leipzig on loan in 2021 and his stay there was made permanent in 2022.  He started the first two league matches this season before settling for a place on the bench for the last two games.

His situation at Wolves has changed and it could allow Leeds and other clubs to make an approach for the 26-year-old in the last two days of the summer window.

A source familiar with the European market informed MBC News the Whites, Everton and Roma are ‘showing serious interest’ in the South Korea international. He is pressing for a transfer within the Premier League amid interest from the Serie A side.

“I’ve played in Germany and Austria, but I’m really happy to play in England because there seems to be something special that I can’t really explain and that I can feel a little bit from an intuition,” MBC News quoted Hwang Hee-chan as saying.

Raúl Jiménez has regained full fitness and has returned to action. Meanwhile, Wolves are close to signing Sasa Kalajdzic from VfB Stuttgart and his arrival may force Hee-chan to look for a move away from Molineux.

The South Korean is determined to have more game time in order to make it to the Qatar World Cup with the national team. He needs to decide whether it’s best to achieve it at Wolves or at another club like Leeds or Everton.
