Leeds United youngster Cody Drameh is considered a ‘manageable risk’ by the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen as they eye up January moves for him.
That’s according to Fussball Transfers, who cover the player today amid reports the German duo are interested in the Leeds United man.
Drameh has been linked with a move away from Elland Road in January after managing just one appearance in the league for Jesse Marsch’s side this season.
He had returned to the club from Cardiff in the summer, where he spent the second half of last season on loan getting regular playing time.
The 20-year-old impressed with the Bluebirds and was expected to be in and around the Leeds squad this season but has made one 70-minute appearance in the defeat to Brentford in the Premier League and 90 minutes against Barnsley in the EFL Cup.
That’s led to reports in England that several clubs are looking at him in January, with Dortmund and Leverkusen named among the suitors.
Fussball Transfers look at that today and say the Bundesliga sides see Drameh as a ‘manageable risk’, aware that he still needs time to develop but still has the ‘basic pre-requisites for professional football’.
They believe that because he is yet to properly break through at Leeds his price has not yet reached a ‘disproportionate level’. Thus, he is not as much of a risk as he might have otherwise been.
Whether Leeds would let him go is another matter, and they do have him tied to a deal until 2024 so there is no rush to decide his future, but it seems Dortmund and Leverkusen are certainly looking and thinking they can secure a fair price for a player who could develop massively.
