Youri Tielemans has “finally figured out that he has to leave Leicester City” in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to journalist Filip Joos, who believes the 24-year-old may look to leave the King Power Stadium.
Tielemans is the undisputed star of the show for Leicester and has been since a permanent move from Monaco in July 2019.
His performances have regularly seen him linked with a move away from the club, with several big sides in Europe having kept an eye on him since he was a youngster at Anderlecht.
So far, he’s shown no indication that he’ll be renewing that deal, meaning Leicester will be forced to sell this summer or risk losing him on a free transfer in 2023.
And according to Joos, the midfielder could be looking for a way out, with him stating the player has “finally figured out that he has to leave Leicester”.
He made that comment as part of a discussion on his future during a panel for the MIDMID podcast, in which they talked about Tielemans and the fact ‘he needs to look elsewhere’.
Now, to be clear, this is just Joos’ opinion and doesn’t appear to be coming from any kind of inside information on his part.
What it does show is that back in his homeland, there’s a growing sense that Tielemans will be looking for a way out of the Foxes this summer and may have now decided to make it happen.
