Dutch website SoccerNews report on Sunday, in a matter of fact way, that Ronald Koeman has set his eyes on Eloy Room and a transfer to Everton is very much on the cards.
Currently playing for Vitesse, Room would arrive at Everton as the club’s third choice goalkeeper behind Jordan Pickford and Maarten Stekelenburg. Joel Robles is still at Goodison Park, but is expected to leave soon, with interest coming from Spain for the goalkeeper.
SoccerNews say Everton should pay €1.5m for 28 year old Room, who has a contract with Vitesse until June 2018, putting the Dutch club under some pressure.
Room doesn’t want to extend his deal at Vitesse, which would further point in the way of an Everton transfer. Omroep Gelderland report the the player has snubbed a a new deal because he wants to go a step higher.
There’s disagreement from Omroep Gelderland on the fee, with it being believed Everton should pay €1.7m.
