Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been warned to keep his hands off Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala.

The midfielder is considered one of the rising talents in world football, having broken through into Bayern’s first team in 2020 and remained there ever since.

He’s been in particularly impressive form this season, bagging seven goals and three assists in seven games in the Bundesliga so far.

That’s followed a goal and an assist in the DFL Supercup and a goal in the DFB Pokal, as well as an assist in the Champions League, meaning his tally is currently seven goals and five assists in 11 games in all competitions.

It means he is already one goal and one assist away from matching his tally from the whole of last season, a further sign that his star continues to rise.

At just 19-years-old he is a star of the future, and it seems inevitable that every big club in Europe could try to snatch him away from the German giants.

Manchester City were already linked last year amid a deadlock in contract negotiations with Bayern, but journalist Raimund Hinko doesn’t want to see that move happen.

“I don’t even want to imagine if Musiala were to play together with Erling Haaland,” he wrote in his column for BILD.

“Then Manchester City, who just humiliated Man United 6:3 (three goals by Haaland, of course) would be unbeatable for good. Not even for Real Madrid.

“So, dear Pep Guardiola, please keep your hands off Musiala, don’t even entertain the thought of him, as hard as the temptation may be for you.

“The best thing for you to do is not to extend your contract and treat yourself to a sabbatical, i.e., a year’s rest.

“You deserve that for your fantastic work at Manchester City. Four times champion in six years, that’s insane, if the Premier League really is the strongest league in the world.”
