Liverpool are looking for a right-back in Serie A, according to a report from Tutto Mercato Web. Actually, they would be eyeing two different talents.
The website claims Liverpool are targeting Napoli’s Elseyd Hisaj and AC Milan’s Mattia De Sciglio, as Jurgen Klopp seeks a player for the position.
Hysaj’s name has been mentioned in the transfer market for months now, taking part in a short and unreliable saga with Manchester United. Even Leicester City were said to want the player, with a €7m bid reported.
In De Sciglio’s case, this is not the first time he’s linked to Liverpool. At the start of the season, it was reported in Italy the Reds already submitted an offer for the player in the summer, but Milan decided not to sell.
At the time, the word in Italy was De Sciglio would cost something around €19m, but the figures offered by Klopp’s side were not revealed.
Both players are regular starters for clubs with high ambitions, so it’s hard to see either of them leaving for a low amount. But maybe a few market moves could change the situation, especially considering Milan’s long time interest in Matteo Darmian from Manchester United.
