On Thursday, Liverpool ended their three-match winless streak by registering a 1-0 win over Atalanta in the Europa League.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah scored from the spot kick in the 7th minute, but that wasn’t enough for the Reds to progress further. They suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Serie A side in the first leg and the two-legged tie ended in a 3-1 aggregate scoreline in La Dea’s favour.
Despite being the only goalscorer in yesterday’s tie, Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport surprisingly have given the lowest rating to the 31-year-old.
The Egypt international got 5.5/10 and was replaced by Darwin Nunez in the 66th minute.
Gazzetta also gave the same rating to three other Liverpool players who were in the starting lineup against Atalanta. They are Andrew Robertson, Curtis Jones and Luis Diaz, but it was Salah they picked out as the worst.
Jürgen Klopp brought on Nunez, Diogo Jota and Harvey Elliott in the second half to help the Merseyside club, but the trio weren’t able to turn things around, and they all got a rating of 5.5/10.
Alisson Becker started in goal for Liverpool, with Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Robertson ahead of the Brazilian in the defence. Except the latter, the quartet were rated 6.5/10 by Gazzetta, and Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai got 6/10.
