Manchester City are in the picture for Bayer Leverkusen star Víctor Boniface.

The striker joined the Bundesliga side in the last window, and managed eight goals and three assists from seven games. His fine displays have caught the attention of several clubs, including the Citizens and Atlético Madrid.

Fichajes.net state the 22-year-old is a ‘great goal’ for Diego Simeone but Manchester City ‘threaten’ the La Liga side in the transfer chase.

The treble winners believe the frontman’s future could be in England, which is why they are ‘closely monitoring’ him.

If the Nigeria international continues his good run, Xabi Alonso’s side could benefit from a possible deal after this season, especially with more than one club keeping tabs on him.

Another report from Fichajes.net provides more updates on Manchester City’s plans to try to sign the player. It’s stated Pep Guardiola’s side are the ‘most interested’ team and are preparing to table an offer to sign Boniface.

The outlet makes it clear Manchester City are keen on the player for next summer, and are willing to beat competition from other interested clubs to secure his services.

Erling Haaland and Julián Álvarez are the two recognised strikers at the Etihad and if one of them were to leave, Manchester City could turn their attention towards Boniface.
