Since Chelsea bought Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama at the start of the year, the Brazilian media has been reporting that the Rio de Janeiro club have a debt with the player.

Even though they had him back on loan, it’s well known he was suing them for a R$662.1 (€125k) debt which was related to a bonus from his last contract renewal.

According to a new report from UOL, Vasco already paid 30%, including the legal expenses. There’s now a remaining debt of R$463k (€88k), and Vasco are asking the Brazilian courts if they can pay that in six instalments.

The midfielder officially joined Chelsea this summer, when he finally got his work permit for the Premier League, and never let go of the legal action.

Despite playing for the Blues in pre-season, he ended up not convincing manager Mauricio Pochettino he deserved a place in the team, and was loaned to Nottingham Forest.

With only one game for the Reds so far, the Chelsea loanee is still struggling to adapt to English football.
