Earlier today, we covered a claim from France that Arsenal were still well in the race to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar.

They were, however, facing competition from Newcastle, and it was reiterated that it was a difficult deal to pull off in January.

Well, we now have further information regarding Arsenal’s attempts to sign the winger from Shakhtar, as the Ukrainian club’s vice director of sport, Carlo Nicolini, gave an interview to Calciomercato.it.

Speaking about the Ukraine international, he said: “Today, Mudryk has been told, like all other players, to present himself for the training in Antalya on the 9th of January. There is interest from Arsenal, I cannot deny it.”

However, while making it clear that Arsenal are keen on the forward, he also made a point of adding in a further quote that the club still haven’t received ‘official offers’ for their star.

The 21-year-old has been touted with a move away from the Ukrainian side for quite some time, and many felt that an exit in January would be the right time for him.

That being said, an agreement with his club still needs to be reached, and that means offers need to be made, which Arsenal have yet to put forward, it seems.
