A few days ago we brought a small snippet from Marca which backed up Vicente Guaita moving to Crystal Palace this summer.
After several Spanish claims of the deal not being as finalised as Roy Hodgson insists, it was perhaps a relief to see some back-up from Spain.
But, again strangely, Saturday’s edition of AS states Guaita’s move from Getafe to Palace isn’t fully done, and that the London club are just one of a number of interested sides, with the player having a preference to continue in La Liga.
Once again, Atletico Madrid are the club mainly linked, and given AS tend to get a string of leaks from the Spanish club, that may be where all this is coming from.
Perhaps the rojiblancos aren’t aware Guaita is committed to Crystal Palace, or perhaps someone is leading them to believe this, because it’s hard to fathom that AS are simply continuing with these claims completely ignorant of what the English club have said publicly.This is an increasingly odd situation, which becomes more eyebrow raising with every Spanish claim.
