AC Milan are expected to complete a deal for Juan Miranda in January and this has seen Real Betis look for a replacement in the market. Recent claims have stated Aston Villa’s Àlex Moreno could be an option.

Estadio Deportivo relay this and share the La Liga side’s stance on the possibility of bringing the 30-year-old back to the club.

The left-back spent over three years at Real Betis before leaving them for Aston Villa at the start of this year.

It’s said Moreno speaks ‘regularly’ with his former teammates and the club’s bosses, but hasn’t received a call from the Spanish club so far. As it stands, his name is not on the table at Real Betis and the defender has also not asked to leave Aston Villa.

A thigh injury forced Moreno to spend several months on the sidelines before he made his first appearance of the season at the end of November.

Speaking to Jijantes FC’s Gerard Romero, relayed by Estadio Deportivo, the fullback has hinted he could return to Real Betis in the future.

“Well, it’s true that I receive a lot of messages from Beticos. I want to thank all the Beticos who continue to send me messages. I have been noticing their affection,” he said.

“Every time I go to Seville, the people who stop me. I’m sure that in the future we will see each other again. When? I don’t know but I’m sure that in the future we will see each other again.”

Estadio Deportivo state Moreno’s return to Real Betis ‘will not be now’ because he has a deal at Aston Villa until 2026.
