Even though Roberto Firmino is getting prepared to leave Liverpool next summer, he’s still proving to be useful for the Anfield side in this final stretch of the season.

The 31-year-old scored the Reds’ late equaliser as they drew with Arsenal on Sunday.

Firmino had a word with ESPN Brasil after the match, and was asked how he was feeling after scoring such an important goal at a time where he knows he’s about to leave Liverpool.

“I won’t say much, because otherwise I’ll get emotional. Because it’s a beautiful legacy with a beautiful history, at such a big club,” Roberto Firmino told ESPN Brasil’s Natalie Gedra.

“I’m very happy and grateful to God for everything we have built here. But it’s a new situation for me, I’ve never been through it. I’ve been praying a lot for God to keep me and help me in this process. I’m working hard, always ready to help the team, and we’re together until the end. I want to finish well here with my teammates.”

This was Firmino’s 11th goal for Liverpool this season, He also has five assists in 32 appearances.

The striker was brought on by manager Jürgen Klopp late in the second half, so despite all the importance he had in this game, this bench situation remains being the main reason why he’s looking to play for another club next season.

With the draw against Arsenal, Liverpool now stand 8th in the Premier League table, and European football may not be available next season.
