Lucas Torreira arrived at Arsenal from Sampdoria in the summer of 2018.

The midfielder featured regularly [34 league appearances] in his debut season at the Emirates, but things haven’t been the same this campaign [only 15 starts in the league] due to fitness concerns.

At the end of last month, Calciomercato reported the Uruguay international wants to return to the Serie A in the next window, where AC Milan are believed to be interested in him.

The 24-yer-old suffered an ankle injury in the first week of March and his agent Pablo Bentancur has provided an update on his client’s recovery during an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb.

“Lucas had been in a bit of a bad mood over some technical differences, then he recovered. And then this injury happened, fortunately less serious than expected. Today he is completely recovered, I believe he will be a market man,” Bentancur said.

The South American’s representative further explained he will hold talks with Arsenal to help Torreira find another club in the summer.

“I will have to talk to Arsenal. The player would love to return to Italy, but it must be acknowledged that Arsenal treated him very well and he’s behaved great,” Torreira’s representative explained.

The player’s contract with the Premier League side is until 2023 and Bentancur didn’t reveal if he has been approached by any clubs for Torreira.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal would be willing to let the midfielder leave in the upcoming window or will they decide to retain him for next season.
