Chelsea ‘do not seem interested’ in activating their option to re-sign Jeremie Boga this summer.

The 23-year-old strike is hot property this summer after scoring eight goals and registering four assists in 25 games for Sassuolo this season.

Several clubs in Italy, chiefly Napoli, are thought to be keen on his signature, but it has regularly been explained that much will depend on Chelsea.

The Blues have an option to re-sign the player, who they sold to Sassuolo for €2.7m in 2018, and it has been widely suggested they would activate that and then sell in order to make an easy, quick profit.

Sport Mediaset say that is looking unlikely to happen, though, with Frank Lampard’s side showing no interest in such a deal.

They explain that Chelsea are a ‘variable’ to be ‘evaluated’ when discussing Boga’s future as they have a €16m option to bring him back.

However, as far as they are concerned, the Blues ‘do not seem interested’ in doing that, despite claims to the contrary.

That’s a change from the recent stance regarding the player, with it widely felt Chelsea held all the cards when it came to his future.

Of course, they technically still do, and if it becomes apparent that clubs are ready to pay big for him, perhaps their stance will change, and they’ll eye up an easy profit.
