Signed by Watford from Pereira in Colombia back in 2017, Cucho Hernández has spent most of that time since then on loan at various clubs.

Those include CD América, SD Huesca, RCD Mallorca and Getafe, meaning he’s spent the vast majority of the last four and a half years in Spain, where he’s enjoyed himself.

He’s now spending his first season at Watford proper, scoring five goals and assisting another three in 25 appearances so far, and he’s enjoying himself.

The player has said as much in an interview with Radio Marca on Monday, explaining he’s found out the hard way that the Premier League ‘isn’t an easy league’ and that ‘adapting quickly is complicated’, before adding: “I’m having a good season for myself and I’m very happy to be here.”

That being said, he doesn’t see his entire future in England, or at Watford for that matter, as he was asked about a potentially going back to La Liga.

He said: “Of course I would like to return to Spain. I’m in love with the country and if one day the opportunity to return to La Liga appears in the future, I will return.”

That could come sooner than expected if Watford do get relegated, as there will likely be a market for the Colombian, who enjoyed his best spell with Huesca, where he scored 20 goals and picked up nine assists in 70 appearances.
