Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Steven Alzate has claimed he’s being forced out of the club and into a loan deal with Standard Liege.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Belgian side over the last 24 hours, with some reports in England stating a deal has been agreed.

The Colombian is yet to feature for Brighton in the league this season, despite having made 12 appearances in all competitions last season.

He spent the second half of the season sat on the bench, though, with his last appearance in the Premier League coming on the 3rd of December.

That’s continued this season as he was left on the bench for the opening day defeat of Manchester United and spent the subsequent five games sat on the bench.

That hints he is not a part of Graham Potter’s plans for the time being and he has now confirmed he’s being pushed out by the Brighton manager.

“I’m not worried about that (the transfer). I still belong to Brighton, the most important thing now is that I will have continuity,” he told Gol Caracol.

“At Brighton everything happened because of a decision of the coach, it’s something I have to respect and that’s it.

“Now I want to show the talent I have and show everyone that I can play in the big leagues.”
