For some players, leaving Manchester United at a young age could prove to be the start of a downward spiral that they never get out of.

For Largie Ramazani, however, the plan is a very different one, as he explains to Mundo Deportivo today.

Ramazani started his career at RSCA Youth before moving to Charlton’s youth set up in 2013. His performances there over the next four years earned him attention from Manchester United, who signed him for their own youth set up in 2017.

He worked his way up from the U18s to the U23 over the next three years, making 30 appearances for the former and 18 for the latter and impressing too, with four goals and eight assists and 11 goals and two assists respectively.

He appeared to be a potential star of the future and was handed a small chance in the first team, with a six-minute appearance in the Europa League.

It seems, though, he wasn’t entirely happy with life at a club like Manchester United and in 2020 he took the decision to depart for pastures new, joining UD Almeria on a free transfer.

He’s been a regular since then, making 100 appearances for the club and scoring 17 goals as well as registering five assists.

The move to the Spanish club has been a smart one, to say the least, and he has grand ambitions to match them.

“I want to help the team and show that I am a first division player,” he said.

“I feel good, happy and confident. It is true that we have not started the league well, but we have done many things well. There are details to correct, and we are working on it.

“We are not worried because there is a lot left, we have a good squad, and we are going to show our true level of play soon.

“I have the capacity to do better. In what demarcation? I don’t have any preferred position. What I want is to play and help the team as much as possible. I want to become a legend at Almería.”
