Radu Dragusin’s transfer to Tottenham Hotspur may not have been made official yet, but with his agent not putting any effort to make that a secret, everyone knows the move will soon be announced.

The Romanian media has been making big noise about it, and today, GSP brings a former Spurs player to talk about it.

That’s Ilie Dumitrescu, who belonged to Tottenham between 1994 and 1996. The former winger showed his excitement for having another compartior player at the club.

“Tottenham are a big, traditional club in England, but I have no doubt that Drăgușin will prevail. And I don’t hesitate to say that he will have a brilliant career,” said Dumitrescu.

“I am very glad that Radu Drăgușin chose Tottenham, my former team. A great chance.”

Dumitrescu joined Tottenham in a move from Steaua Bucharest in the summer of 1994. He belonged to Spurs for just one year and a half, and that included a six-month loan at Sevilla. His record for the London side was of five goals and two assists in 20 appearances.

Dragusin, meanwhile, is expected to arrive from Genoa in a deal worth around €25m, before bonuses. The fact that he rejected a move to Bayern Munich is a reason for Tottenham fans to get quite excited about his arrival, as he hopes to soon have a place in Ange Postecoglou’s side.
