Miguel Almiron will not be leaving Newcastle United this summer despite rumours to the contrary about his future at St James’ Park.

That’s according to his agent Daniel Campos, who has insisted the Paraguay star is happy with life in the North East.

Almiron endured something of a middling campaign once again for Newcastle this past season, with just one goal to his name in 30 Premier League games.

He had somewhat fallen out of favour under Steve Bruce but enjoyed more of a prominent role under his replacement Eddie Howe, when he arrived to replace him.

Despite that, he has been linked with a move away from Newcastle this summer, with the Magpies expected to spend big in the summer transfer window and thus push Almiron further down the pecking order.

It seems, though, that the player has no intention of departing just yet, at least if his agent’s latest claims are anything to go by.

“He is at the best club in the world. He is happy with prominence; I don’t see any possibility of change now,” Campos told Versus Radio on Universo 970, relayed by La Nacion.

“They are going to change everything, structure, youth, women’s soccer, everything is going to change.”
