Unable to fully stamp his mark on Mikel Arteta’s squad at Arsenal, Jorginho has constantly been linked with a move from the Emirates in each of the last two transfer windows without anything really happening.

However, it appears that his agent could be gearing up for a busy summer if his latest comments, relayed by Calciomercato.it journalist Eleonora Trotta, are to be believed.

João Santos has never been shy about talking of an Italy return for the Arsenal midfielder, doing so even during his Chelsea days, and it was no different this time.

He said: “I can see him fitting in well at Lazio with Mister Sarri or at Juventus with the great director [Cristiano] Giuntoli, but also at Napoli with Calzona. Inter and AC Milan are two great clubs. Roma has never been an option.”

It’s easy to see that the Napoli links are still strong, since the Arsenal midfielder excelled under Sarri in the south of Italy, while Cristiano Giuntoli was recently their director of football up until the summer when he switched to Juventus.

Whether this all means the Gunners could sell their player in the next transfer window, only they know, but it’s clear that Santos is putting his client’s name out there early, and probably for a reason.

Santos did also add: “Arsenal have priority. In any case, we want the right club for him.”

The 32-year-old has made 25 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season, only 12 of which have been starts, scoring one goal and picking up an assist.
