Tottenham forward Lucas Moura has admitted he is ‘happy to be back’ after a tough two-month absence through injury.

The Brazilian has been out injured with a calf problem since August, an injury which has seen him spend 42 days on the treatment table and miss Tottenham’s last nine games.

Tottenham have continued their strong start to the season in that period, with them currently sitting third in the Premier League and top of Group D in the Champions League.

Their forward line has also been in fine form too, with Harry Kane and Heung-min Son continuing their prolific relationship and Richarlison also starting to establish himself under Antonio Conte.

It means he faces a fight to get back into the first team, particularly when Dejan Kulusevski also returns from his own injury layoff to compete for a place.

It seems he’s not focusing on that for the time being, though, and is just happy to be back and ready to fight at all.

“The first thing is that I am very happy to be back,” he told Mundo Deportivo.

“It’s been very hard being out for two months and finally I can play again. I feel good, I look good.

“My goal is to help the team, to be an important player for this team, for my team-mates, to support as much as I can. When I’m on the pitch I will always try to give my all.”
