Finally, Emerson Palmieri to Chelsea may actually become a real thing.

It feels like we’ve been covering articles about his imminent arrival for a week or so now. Everything seemed finalised and then Emerson’s case got wrapped up in the Edin Dzeko mini saga, but now it appears he’s broken free.

TMW report Emerson will travel to London tomorrow to have his medical and then join Chelsea. The fullback has agreed a contract for four and a half years and will be paid €2.5m, likely after tax, per season.

The information comes from TMW’s representatives at Milan’s Hotel Melia, where agents and officials from Italian clubs gather at the end of transfer windows. Getting everyone in one place helps deals get over the line, and there’s a steady stream of leaks.

TMW say: ‘The operation was conducted by Fernando Garcia of Elenko and Federico Pastorello as an intermediary.’

That probably gives some idea of where the information has come from, and it seems this time Emerson will actually be moving to Chelsea.
