Earlier this month, we carried a report from Marca, who claimed top European clubs have knocked on Manchester City’s door for Brahim Diaz.

Another Spanish newspaper AS has a report about the 19-year-old, whose contract at the Etihad runs down at the end of the season.

Real Madrid are said to be interested in the attacking midfielder and they want to ‘convince’ the player to not renew his contract so that he can join them for free next summer.

He is already aware of the interest from the Champions League winners and the idea of playing for the La Liga giants ‘seduces’ him, which is why, as of today, Brahim has decided to leave Manchester City… according to AS.

Lack of minutes at the Etihad, coupled with the idea of returning to Spain is tempting for the player, which is why Real have an advantage.

Pep Guardiola wants Manchester City to work with Brahim and renew his contract, which at this stage remains ‘complicated’.

It is still too early to tell whether Los Blancos will be successful in securing Brahim’s signature, but the Premier League winners will have a hard task on their hands to retain the player, who has over just six months left on his contract.
