Despite Atlético-MG being a big club in Brazil, they’re not often involved in transfer stories. We rarely see Premier League clubs linked to their players if comparing to other sides such as Grêmio, Santos or Flamengo.

But Chelsea have been linked to two of their players in the past week. First, local outlet O Tempo said the Blues are following right-back Emerson. Then the English press has put the Stamford Bridge side among a list of clubs who want Bruninho.

The price for Bruninho hadn’t been revealed, although O Tempo claimed that £8.3m should be enough to take Emerson from the Brazilian club.

But now Atlético have released their financial plans for 2019, and as reported by Super Esportes, they expect to make R$70m (£14.5m) with sales in the entire year. That’s similar to what they made in 2018.

Super Esportes mentions Bruninho and Ederson in the list of players who could be sold next year, along with defender Iago Maidana and right-back Marcos Rocha.

This is clearly a sign that Chelsea can get the duo if they want to. Even if Atlético raise the demands if a Premier League club come for their players, the plans show that they’re not expecting much. It’s crazy how the money they’re expecting to bring in couldn’t even afford a good player in Europe these days.

It’s worth recalling that Chelsea midfielder Nathan is currently having a loan spell at Atlético, and he’s staying in Brazil until next summer. So the clubs have recently been in touch.
