The Argentine media is sounding pretty calm about Enzo Fernández’s fitness situation.

In Chelsea’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday evening, the midfielder was replaced in the second half because of an injury.

Now as TyC Sports journalist Gaston Edul comes to speak about the 22-year-old, it’s claimed there’s actually nothing serious going on, as ‘he’s fine’.

The report says that Fernandez had an ankle issue and that’s why he asked Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino if he could be replaced.

According to Edul, the midfielder should be fit to play against Manchester City at the weekend, and is expected to be training with Argentina’s squad by Monday.

Fernandez has made 13 appearances for Chelsea this season, being a very important man for Pochettino, and starting all but one of their games in the Premier League.

Argentina have quite an exciting couple of fixtures in the World Cup qualifiers coming up, as they’ll be facing Uruguay and Brazil in the next international break. None of their players will want to miss that, so we’ll see how Fernandez’s recovery will look by then.
