Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has already admitted Allan Saint-Maximin is in talks to leave St James’ Park.

On Wednesday, RMC Sport stated the Magpies have an agreement in principle with Al-Ahli for around €25m. It was also said the winger was seduced by the project offered by the Saudi Arabian side, who had also proposed him a deal worth €12m per year.

The latest from RMC Sport states they have offered the Frenchman a three-year deal and he’s expected to leave Newcastle for Al-Ahli in this window.

The report explains that progress was made on Wednesday to bring Saint-Maximin closer to the Middle East club.

It’s claimed the Magpies player is now ‘getting closer’ to Al-Ahli, so much so that the two parties hope to close the ‘transfer in the next 48 hours’.

RMC Sport add there are still ‘important details’ that need to be sorted out to conclude the operation. Although there’s no mention what these details are, they do state it has been a ‘subject of heated discussions in recent hours’.

Journalist Fabrice Hawkins covered this report and he took to Twitter to state the parties are optimistic Saint-Maximin will end up at Al Ahli, despite the need to ‘settle important details’.
