The German media are quite excited about Thomas Tuchel being linked with the Everton job. It may not be the likeliest of outcomes, but stranger things have happened, and it gives a chance for Bild and others to talk about some of their favourite topics.
Those favourites topics include Bayern Munich and their manager situation, Thomas Tuchel, and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Earlier on Tuesday SportBild spoke to Tuchel’s agent Olaf Meinking about Everton rumours, and he told them: “We’ll do the same as in the past, and also in the future: We won’t comment on rumours.”
Meinking not ruling the Goodison Park job out means there’s time for more articles before Tuchel to Everton could be killed somewhere.
Bild find a way to bring Klopp into the story, and that’s by stating the possibility of a Merseyside derby between Tuchel’s Everton and Liverpool’s Klopp.The two former Borussia Dortmund managers remain big news in Germany, and such a match would generate huge coverage in the country.
Despite the excitement, and it’s Bild’s biggest sport story right now, Tuchel to Everton is somewhat running on fumes, and it’s still expected he’ll wait for the Bayern Munich job.
But then it was also expected that Tuchel would get it before Jupp Heynckes did.
