Back in January, the Brazilian media had already started claiming that Fulham were interested in renewing Willian’s contract at the club.

At the time, it was UOL who said the Whites were satisfied with his start at Craven Cottage and were working to extend his one-year deal.

Now it’s time for IG to come up with a story about that, saying Fulham have ‘shown interest’ in handing Willian a new deal.

The winger is thought to be aware of the club’s intention, but is set to wait for the end of the season before deciding what to do.

The 34-year-old is reportedly set to have a conversation with Fulham about their project for next season.

IG even recalls some recent quotes from Willian in an interview he had with them. At the time, he sounded very satisfied with his time at the club.

“I’m very happy here, for the way everyone received me at the club and fans,” he said.

“I still haven’t had any talks with Fulham about a renewal, but I’m calm, I think the main focus is what I’ve been doing, improving every game, playing good football. At the end of the season, we’ll see what’s best for the club and for me too, but without a doubt, I’m very happy and satisfied to be playing here.”

Wilian joined Fulham in a free move from Corinthians back in September. In this first season at the club, he has five goals and four assists in 27 appearances so far.
