Fulham star João Palhinha dreams of making a switch to Barcelona, according to a report from Catalan newspaper Sport.

Bayern Munich came close to securing his services last summer but the move collapsed on deadline day. That didn’t impact his performances as the midfielder has impressed for Fulham this season, managing two goals and an assist from 21 games.

Despite last year’s disappointment, the 28-year-old still wants to leave Marco Silva’s side.

That’s according to Sport, who state Palhinha is excited about the possibility of joining the La Liga side.

It’s claimed the Portugal international has informed his close circle about his wish to sign for the Catalan club.

Sources close to him have admitted that he would welcome a move away from Fulham for both personal and sporting reasons. He’s aware it’s difficult for him to win silverware with the Premier League side.

There’s no explanation given for the personal reasons.

Barcelona appreciate his profile, but a potential deal remains complicated because of their financial conditions. Sport state he’s valued at €60m and this is another big obstacle for them to secure the former Sporting man’s services.

It feels like Palhinha’s entourage have started the process of casting the net and whether they’ll be successful in the coming windows remains to be seen.
