Three Premier League clubs are interested in the Cardiff City defender Sol Bamba, according to claims on Thursday.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato says that Fulham, Newcastle United and West Ham United would all be keen on the 33-year-old.

The website doesn’t have many details on each club’s chase. All they say is the Hammers could soon lose Issa Diop, which seems unlikely, and Rafael Benitez liked what he saw when facing Bamba in the Premier League.

Calcio Mercato claims that Cardiff would demand between €3m and €4m in January, and Southampton are another side who could join the race for the defender.

This is the typical type of article which makes us wonder why an Italian website is having a report about a French player with Ivorian citizenship who could move from Wales to England. In this case, that’s because Bamba belonged to Palermo between 2014 and 2015, from where he later moved to Leeds United.

Interestingly, he shares an agent with Emiliano Sala, who has been linked recently to all of Fulham, Newcastle and West Ham.
