Transfers are a complicated business and the rumours around them even more so, as we’re discovering with Fulham’s pursuit of Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos.

Marca provide the latest update on the Argentine today amid reports that Fulham are keen to secure his signature and pushing to get a deal over the line.

Earlier today we covered reports regarding their interest and a real fear at Sevilla that a deal would be done, which was later followed by claims that Fulham had already struck an agreement with the Spanish side.

That report made it clear that it was the two clubs who were in agreement and nothing more, but the indication was that things were progressing.

Marca now say the opposite, though, explaining that Fulham have ‘launched decisively’ to sign Ocampos and already have an agreement in place with him. They don’t, though, have an agreement with Sevilla at this moment in time.

In fact, the Andalusian club are ‘waiting for a first proposal’ to arrive so they can sit down to negotiate a deal.

They’re more than ‘open to hearing offers’ for the player, which would have to be worth more than €15m, as they can use the money to continue reshaping their squad.

They are yet to receive that offer from Fulham, though, who’ve gone ahead and tied things up with Ocampos before approaching Sevilla, according to Marca.
