Fulham hope to ‘close a deal’ for Barcelona goalkeeper Neto ‘in the next few hours’ after making him a priority signing.

That’s according to Sport, who back up reports that Marco Silva’s side have made a move for the Brazilian stopper.

Earlier today, we covered a report from Spain that stated Neto was choosing between Fulham and Napoli, having seen a potential move to Celta Vigo fall by the wayside.

Sport now back that up, stating that Barcelona are close to finding a solution for the goalkeeper this summer.

Their plan is to place him at a new club this week or early next week, and Neto has ‘several offers on the table’ as the Catalans are willing to release him on a free to save his wages.

Neto’s agents have already met with Mateu Alemany and given the green light to some of the operations underway.

Fulham are one of the clubs ‘negotiating with the goalkeeper’s agents’ to try and reach an agreement, but Neto would prefer to go to Napoli, and that is why he is waiting.

They, though, have several candidates on their list, and if the Italians don’t make a move, then ‘he could go to Fulham immediately’.

The newly promoted side ‘have him as a priority’ and hope to close a deal ‘in the next few hours’ to make him their first-choice goalkeeper.
