On Friday, Montpellier president Laurent Nicollin said he’d rejected Chelsea’s bid for Elye Wahi. The Blues are still in the picture to sign the striker and are now joined by Fulham and West Ham United.

That’s according to RMC Sport, who say Chelsea ‘still negotiate’ with the Ligue 1 side over a deal for the 20-year-old.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will have to face competition from both Fulham and West Ham as it’s claimed the latter two have entered the transfer race.

Marco Silva’s side could see Willian move to Saudi Arabia while the Hammers, who are yet to make a new signing this summer, are in the market for an attacker. This has seen the two clubs look at Wahi.

In addition to the Premier League trio, the report states Eintracht Frankfurt have closely followed the France U21 international for several months.

Despite the competition from Fulham and West Ham, Chelsea ‘continue to push’ to find an agreement with Montpellier. The Blues’ last offer was €27.5m plus €2.5m bonuses while the report says the French club hope to collect around €40m for Wahi.

Should Pochettino’s side win the battle, RMC Sport state it’s not clear whether the player will be loaned out next season.

Wahi starred for Montpellier last season, scoring 19 goals and registering six assists from 33 games.
