Heavily touted to be a target for Crystal Palace, who are in desperate need of a right-back after selling Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United, Monaco’s Djibril Sidibé ‘will join’ Everton instead of heading to Selhurst Park.

At least, that’s what RTL journalist Bertrand Latour is claiming on social media, reporting the France international will be featuring under Marco Silva next season.

Very little information is given at this present time other than the player’s name and the club he will  be joining, but previous reports suggested a fee of €15m would be needed to acquire his services.

This fits with previous news that Monaco were looking for a new right-back, targeting Montpellier’s Ruben Aguilar to bolster their defence.

It appears this move stems from Sidibé himself, who came very close to signing for Atlético Madrid a year ago, and it was stated the player was ‘tempted’ by a move to the Premier League when Palace were mentioned.

For Everton, he would be the ideal complement to help Seamus Coleman, providing plenty of attacking prowess down the right-hand side in games where defending might not be needed as much.

Possessing plenty of pace and a decent end product, Sidibé could be a valuable asset for Marco Silva when going forward. Just don’t ask too much of him when it comes to being in the right place at the right time when the opponent start to counter.
